Director's Message

Greetings. My name is Dewayne Coker. I am the Dean of Students at Banks Academy. I have been happily married to Lisa Coker for over 37!years, and we are blessed with three awesome boys, Chase, Camron, and Jacb. I have been in education for 21 years and have experienced many different things. I have taught, coached, and led in various tasks given to me by God. God has always equipped me through experience, my BA from Birmingham Southern and my Masters in Education from Grand Canyon University.  For the last four years, God has called me to Banks Academy, where I am now. I have seen God work in the lives of students at Banks.

I will continue my work at Banks; however, God has birthed a vision in me to add something to my role at Banks. It is amazing to watch God develop something in me by planting the seed in my heart, followed by students asking me about it without provocation. For example, with the SOAR concept, without the students knowing what God is doing, they continuously ask me, "Can you teach me the keyboard?" "Can you teach me the drums?" etc.
